PCA is seeking a Finance Extraordinaire

PCA Ground Engineering is an innovative company based on the Gold Coast offering design and construction piling and anchoring services throughout Australia.

Due to expansion and internal promotions our finance team is requiring additional resources.  This role would suit someone who is looking to be part of the bigger picture, who wants job stability and who enjoys working in a small team but will add that certain pizazz!

PCA have recently introduced a new accounting system and the suitable candidate will add value to our growing organisation utilising their existing knowledge and supporting the finance functions whilst liaising with internal departments, suppliers, sub-contractors and external stakeholders.

This role will suit an experienced bookkeeper to support the Finance Manager with varied responsibilities including, but will not be limited to the following;

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Daily transactional bookkeeping, including performing bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable including monthly reconciliations.
  • Assisting with month and quarter end reporting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring profit & loss items are accurate and complete.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly progress claims and invoice submissions in line with the BIF and BCIPA Act
  • Cashflow Management
  • Project reporting
  • Assisting with Statutory reporting – Payroll Tax, STP, QLeave, BAS, etc
  • Processing payment runs in line with company policies
  • General HR administrative duties and record-keeping, including the preparation of employee contracts
  • Other Ad-hoc Duties as requested

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum of five years experience in a similar role and the understanding of accounting principles
  • Cert IV in bookkeeping or equivalent
  • Previous accounts payable experience on a large scale in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Proven time management skills which are effective when under pressure
  • Moderate skills in Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent Organisational Skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Common Sense

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Microsoft Business Centrals Accounting Software / Dynamics Navision
  • Construction Industry Award
